Barbara Schmidt

“I am happiest when designing spaces, styling and propping. Working on set or location and, of course, shopping for a shoot keep me dreaming and creating. Part of what I love is that my job is continually evolving. There is always a new way to combine design elements for enhanced lifestyle and wellbeing. Being able to practice this while creating visual branding for a variety of clients makes me feel thankful every day.” Barbara Schmidt is a world traveler with Scandinavian roots and a prop collection with its own address.

Based in New York but with strong ties to the open prairies of America’s heartland and a special boathouse on San Francisco’s Tomales Bay. She has authored a Kitchen and Bath internationally syndicated column, a kitchen and bath blog for a cabinet manufacturer, and toured the country on behalf of various clients as an expert on trends and interiors.

When at home, Barbara and her husband are themselves aided by their rescued family: Atacama the Chilean wonder dog, Isabelle the miracle Siamese, Francois the climbing Tuxedo boy and most recently Circe the dumpster diving Calico.
